Waking up this morning was hard since I was out working an event at the French Embassy until 1:30 in the morning. A group of us gals got called to go over to help at 6 so it ended up being a really long night.  This was one of the events where we had to actually really staff the event like bus tables and work the bar and on occasion the people were asses or perhaps I was just in a bad mood since I was tired and grumpy.  I hate working the dressier events because people tend to be jerks since they paid so much of the event.  Walking around in heels picking up people’s crap isn’t exactly my idea of fun and people are not exactly nice when they start drinking.  I think people assume things like you do this for a living where as in actuality this is my side job and I could have more degrees than you do!

Anyway,..I digress.  There really never is any one cute at these things, the food is okay, and the band and or the DJ are mediocre so I start finding these things highly over-rated that if the embassy itself actually doesn’t throw the event I don’t think I want to go.  Perhaps it would be fun to go with a date but I am over it.  And if I did go I would want a guy who could go in a tux since  going with a guy who is in a suit isn’t quite the same.
