So for the first time in what feels like a really long time I actually went out for the sake of going out for fun.  Imagine the thought! Not to have to entertain other people like I will tonight at a French Embassy event.  I met my friend and we went to Friendship Heights to a champagne tasting with the Little Black Dress Club (LBC) of DC but it turned out that we basically ended up hanging out with each other.  We got there a tad on the later side and it turned out that the champagne tasting was open to the general public so there really wasn’t that much socializing going on and it seemed like if they were there the ladies of the LBC got started early.  Oh well.  It was a valiant effort to try to meet new girls to be friends with.  I always try and it always sounds like a good idea but it always turns out slightly different than what you would have envisioned in your head.

After that was over we went to Lucy Bar to meet my friend’s husband her his co-workers out.  We ended up staying at Lucky Bar for the majority of the night which was interesting.  It wasn’t that crowded with the happy hour crowd which slowly turned into the Friday night going out people as the night went on.  My friend and I were chatting at the bar and we were constantly interrupted by people ordering which was fine but some people were really rude about it.  One guy almost fell on top of me.  And there was a mix of young and old and then there was an Asian invasion of sorts which amused my friend and I.  I only randomly started talking to one guy while he was ordering but that was about it.  No one really seemed that interesting.  There was the guy with the Harry Potter scarf that had the whole nerdy preppy look going on who seemed like a maybe but oh well.  My friend ended up going up to Adam’s Morgan with her husband and her friends but I meandered off to go home since I knew I had been out longer than I expected by far so it was a good night overall and might as well end it while you were still having fun!
